3-toothbrushes-in-a-bag

There was once I went to Giant. I saw a mom and her teen son shopping with her. Her hand holds a list of things to buy. They were shopping on a tight budget, choosing on the lowest price on whatever items they needed.

It was the toothbrush section where I saw these two person. They weren't there to relax, they were moving fast, and making decisions fast based on the price and the things to do after their shopping. Now, we do know that Giant or Carrefour sells 3-toothbrushes-in-a-bag toothbrushes that cost only RM5. Yes they are cheap. And the brush quality is cheap too. Yes, those two were selecting one of the many 3-toothbrushes-in-a-bag toothbrushes that were displayed there. They just took the cheapest one and sped off.

There I was... Witnessing their efforts, to control spending, to purchase as much as possible on a small budget, despite the quality of the brushes being below par. And I was beside them finding a single toothbrush that I would want to use, that I would feel proud of using, just because it has those complicated designs that was "clinically proven" to be able to remove more plague than other brushes. It's not to say I only use expensive brushes... It's my teeth that grew so tight to each other that I need something better to brush off those hard to reach places...

So it's not that I don't use cheap brushes... I'm just trying to clean my teeth to white. Some say yellow teeth are born in to you and that it's stronger than natural white teeth... But some say it's because you SMOKE! which obviously I DON'T! It's because... for two years when nurses were in our school to give free dental checkups, they said my teeth were yellow... because I SMOKE! which obviously! I DON'T! I've even tried smoker's toothpaste... And really have to take a long long time to brush it till it shines white.

That day was a Sunday evening. Where the Kenari went back to a place 300km far. Where I saw a Cumulonimbus that looked like a crawling baby. Where I found what I was searching for. And learnt a lesson from that mom and son.

早上看庙, 晚上...没睡觉啦... (Part 2)

Later that night, went to Queensbay Mall for dinner.
The famous concept restaurant called: T-bowl!
(Toilet bowl) XD

See the toilet bowls in there? They're no joke. You sit on them for your meal.

Closer look...

The interesting looking menu.

When you're in there, they practically serve food in the bowl.
Except the bowl is smaller and the food is real!

I love this picture. My favourite.

After dinner, went to the Gurney Esplanade for the lantern festival organized by the local organizer.
But because of the rain, they pack up early... And went to the sea side instead...

Big waves splashing up.
Some kids purposely put their heads there to be splashed by sea water.

********************

The next day, went to the world's largest toy museum at Batu Feringgih.

Loads of toys and exhibits. I'm almost the same size as Batman.

Stitch is not big. He's just cute. XD

After visiting the toy museum, I head back to KL with a heavy heart. I wished I could stay longer so that I can finish touring the whole island... Well... Happy moments just have to speed up the time... There's always a next time. The next time I go there, I'm going to Bayan Lepas. Hehe!

早上看庙, 晚上...没睡觉啦...

Went to have McDonald's breakfast at Gurney drive again... I don't know why I have to come to Penang only have McDonald's breakfast. Lol...
Something that someone likes to do, taking lots of pictures of me...
After breakfast, we went to Bukit Bendera.
As you can see, the price is a bit awkward.
She's been holding the camera for too long... Now it's my turn. Hahaha.

First time I see the transport vehicle of Bukit Bendera...

The view of the bridge.
The only skyscraper in the whole city.
Can you spot my car?

This Guan Yin statue is 30.6 metres high, surrounded by 16 dragon poles...

Then we went to the Thai Buddhist Temple.
Big sleeping Buddha.

All in all, I like this trip. I like touring the city. But I just don't like the traffic. Haha. Coz it's quite complicated for KL people like me. Haha. But still, it can be get used to after an hour or two driving in that frenzy traffic. I'll continue the trip on the next post.

Road to Penang. 2/10/09

Look at the speed.

Then look where my feet is. Haha.

First time driving on the longest bridge in South East Asia. I actually feel scared and excited of the adventures to come...

Gurney Plaza. Behind me is the sea.

Along Gurney Drive. A lot of people there. Young and old, mostly young families and groups of friends... Many couples were there too...

Rising tide. Quite calming looking at the waves. How long since I went to a seaside...

Mission: Island Invasion

The famous Penang Island. An island where it's culture still stands till today... A good thing or a bad thing, let them judge themselves.

It's been more than 10 years since I've ever set foot on that place. And every time I was there, I always fell sick. And it's not nice... There was once I puked in front of someone's shop at night, the lady shopkeeper gave me warm water to drink, then only I recover. I'm not sure why though... It was the same case back then when I went Langkawi Island... Maybe the northern part of Malaysia has different air pressure? Haha.

A year ago, I went to Langkawi with classmates. Surprisingly, nothing was wrong. This time, I heading to Penang. Where Mr. Francis Light 'found' it. O.o This time, I'm gonna find out what went wrong 10 years ago and why was I sick. And then I'm gonna see how far Penang has changed since my last trip. Expect loads of photos.

Friday 3rd October 2009, 9-9.30am. Mission is a go.
